Mobs spawning and crops growing on Minto require ‘energy’. The land around you on Minto has a limited amount of this energy. Once it runs out, mobs stop spawning and crops don’t grow.

The energy in an area is shown by a lightning bolt icon () in the tablist. This icon fades to gray as energy in your area runs out.

To keep your mob/crop farms running, you want to obtain energy items, which you can get from buildings, or from mining deepslate.

Right-clicking an energy item adds +30s of energy to your area. Doing this with many energy items next to your farms will let them run completely unhindered, until your added time runs out.

To make the most of your energy, build a very high output/efficient/well-designed farm, and use it there.

You can also left-click energy items to get some XP directly.
